About Erin Ridge North

What it's like, and who it tends to suit.

The north tip of the city

The neighbourhood began after the 2007 annexation, and the City calls it the northernmost tip of St. Albert. The commercial corridor along St. Albert Trail is on its west side.

Home types

Single-family homes, duplexes, townhomes and condos. In July 2025 Council changed one site on Edison Drive from high to medium density and made several St. Albert Trail parcels commercial.

Parks and a school in the middle

The City lists Everitt and Coal Mine parks and an Element Park playground, with Lois E. Hole Elementary in the centre of the community.

Schools and recreation

Confirm the school for the exact address before you write an offer.

Public schools

Neil Ross Road is the dividing line. South of it, St. Albert Public Schools designates Lois E. Hole Elementary (K to 6) and Lorne Akins (7 to 9). North of it, the school is Joseph M. Demko (K to 9) in Jensen Lakes.

Catholic schools

Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools designates Sister Alphonse Academy for homes north of Erin Ridge Drive and Erin Ridge Road.

Shopping

The big-box shopping on St. Albert Trail is beside the neighbourhood. See my St. Albert guide for more.

What that tells me: sales are slow here compared with the rest of St. Albert. Five resale homes sold in 90 days against 9 for sale, and no new homes sold while 3 sat for a median of 147 days. A buyer has room to negotiate on both, more so on the new ones.

What I check on a home in Erin Ridge North

I've worked in new construction for 25+ years, on the trades side and the sales side. I'm not a home inspector, engineer or lawyer, and I'll tell you when you need one.

Which side of Neil Ross Road

The public school changes at Neil Ross Road, so I confirm the school for the address before anything else if that matters to you.

The lot

Grading and drainage, the fence and deck, and how close you are to the commercial area on St. Albert Trail, which brings traffic and light along that edge.

The paperwork

On a resale: the real property report, permits, and when to bring in a home inspector. On a new build: what's included, possession dates and warranty coverage.
