Short answer: The Brickyard is a new community on the west side of Stony Plain, beside Westview School and the arena and pool. On Oct 2, 2026 there were 6 new detached family homes and 1 resale listed. Only 1 detached family home sold in the 90 days before that, for $545,000, so there's no typical price to quote yet. Prices change often with market conditions and world events.

About The Brickyard
What it's like, and who it tends to suit.
The Brickyard at Old Town
That's the Town's name for the plan, first approved in 2014 and updated in October 2024. It covers about 64 hectares on the west side of town.
Home types
The plan is for about 950 homes. Roughly 72% are low density, meaning single-family and semi-detached, and the rest are duplexes and row houses. Some lots have rear lanes. The Town removed the high density sites.
Parks and ponds
Three stormwater ponds are planned and the north one is built. The plan also has a naturalized park in the northwest, possibly with a toboggan hill, and two smaller parks.
Schools and recreation
Confirm the school for the exact address before you write an offer.
Public school
Westview School, a K to 9 Parkland School Division school that opened in September 2023, is beside the neighbourhood and lists the Brickyard among the areas it serves.
Catholic schools
Catholic schools in Stony Plain are run by Evergreen Catholic Schools. Ask the division which school serves the address you're looking at.
Recreation next door
Glenn Hall Centennial Arena, the outdoor pool and spray park and the ball diamonds are beside the Brickyard. The Town's new Community Recreation Facility is being built there too. Ask the Town for the opening date. See my Stony Plain guide for more.

What that tells me: 6 new homes for sale, none sold in the last 30 days, and a median of 131 days on the market. That's more than four months of sitting. If you like a finished new home here, there's room to talk about price, upgrades or closing costs.
What I check on a new build in the Brickyard
I've worked in new construction for 25+ years, on the trades side and the sales side. I'm not a home inspector, engineer or lawyer, and I'll tell you when you need one.
What's in the price
GST, landscaping, fencing, the deck, appliances and blinds are handled differently by each builder. I line up the all-in cost so you can compare homes fairly.
The lot
Grading and drainage, lane or front garage, and what's behind you. Being close to the school, arena and new recreation centre is handy, and it also means traffic and lights at game time.
The paperwork
Possession dates, deposit terms, what the Alberta new home warranty covers, and the walkthrough before you take the keys.
